Carbon Partners - Working with local Councils
and Government
Australian governments are increasingly focusing on the need for sustainable outcomes. This focus is evolving rapidly and emerging in Government policy and strategies, particularly in areas such as:
- waste management;
- renewable energy;
- climate change and greenhouse gas abatement;
- water use efficiency;
- regional and new industry development.
The Carbon Partners process creates multiple sustainable outcomes and community benefits, and helps to meet these Government objectives.
The Carbon Partners process will:
- meet EPA requirements;
- set the standard for a fully controlled environment processing outcome;
- deliver substantial diversion of organic waste from landfill and overstressed composting facilities;
- recover base-load renewable energy for export to the power network;
- enhance security of local power supply;
- potentially reclaim water for beneficial reuse;
- produce a high quality organic fertiliser product with genuine practical applications and benefits to agricultural, horticultural and turf farm industries;
- be generally sited in industrial areas - which may enable co-siting with significant power users or commercial organic waste generators;
- assist local Councils to develop and implement an environmentally sustainable organic waste management solution that will dovetail perfectly with the Victorian Government's Towards Zero Waste Strategy and the ICLEI Cities for Climate Protection program.
Community benefits include:
- reduced greenhouse gas, leachate and odour emissions;
- potential surplus reclaimed water for irrigation reuse for dust suppression and irrigation of Council parks, gardens, local golf courses and sports grounds;
- regional development advantages in terms of local employment and an attractive organic waste management option for large trade waste generators.
Carbon Partners - Working with Agriculture
The Carbon Partners anaerobic digestion technology is both modular and scaleable. This means that the process can be applied to applications ranging in scale from large-scale regional organic waste management projects to smaller farm-scale manure management projects for intensive agriculture.
Carbon Partners is working closely with large dairy operators on the development of farm-scale facilities to meet the evolving sustainability needs of an increasingly intensive industry.
Carbon Partners has worked closely with and understands the needs of the agricultural and food processing sectors for sustainable organic waste management and reliable power supply.
Carbon Partners has also undertaken groundbreaking research and development into the fertiliser market to establish the potential for water saving properties of organic fertiliser products compared to conventional fertiliser products. The organic fertiliser product produced by Carbon Partners will be both stabilised and bio-secure.
